Kodie (Now Ti-Jack) Update

The picture speaks for itself :P - he is doing great!

This is what his new mom said:

"Kodie is already getting along with his new daddy :) They make a wonderful team. Thanks again to eleven eleven animal rescue, and specially to Caroline and Leigh, who helped us finding the dog of our dreams :) Thank you so much ♥"

New Arrival - Bunkie

Bunkie

Age: Young
Sex: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Date Rescued: January 30th 2009

Bunkie’s family got caught in a tight situation and had to leave town – FAST (For confidential reasons). Bunkie was about an hour away from getting the boot (Or being left behind) when 11-11 got called by someone working their case, we rushed to the rescue in 20 minutes and rescued the little kitty. She is now safe and sound and looking for a new home to start her brand new life. She is a little compact ball of non-stop l-o-v-e, so get ready for it!

Kodie - ADOPTED!

This little tyke set a new record at 11-11, he was adopted and we have 5 adoption applications within 48 hours of posting him! However this lucky boy was adopted within 'the family' by a freind and co-worker of 11-11 at an affiliated veterinary clinic. He has already settled himself into his new home, and their hearts.

Leyla - ADOPTED

Leyla was adopted today into a fantastic family (to say the least). We are very excited for her to have found such a great family. She has a whole long life ahead of her with them and we know it will be filled with a whole lot of love. Leyla has hit the jack-pot with them, and so have they with her. One more happy tail!

Porscha Adopted!

Porscha was rescued in November and after 4 months has now bee ADOPTED! She is a true survivor and was the vicitim of for profit breeding. Because of the negelctful conditions she was kept in and poor genetics Porscha has NO tear production. She arrived with leathery dry eyes, the docotors did not even belive they would be able to recover. But this little mircale worker, worked her maigic along with intensive eye treatments and a fantastic foster mom Porscha slowly regained her vision! She however will never have tear production, and for the rest of her life will always be on eye ointments. Even with that Porscha was able to find an EXCEPTIONAL home, with a new sister! She is one lucky pup and is now finally getting the second chance at life so many people have fought for her to have. Thank you to her beyond amazing foster mum Leesa, and the amazing adoptive home who looked past her special needs and what what we all saw, just Porshca a perfect little flawless pup.

***Porscha was resturned to the rescue, see here.

New Arrival - Jill

Jill:

Age: Young
Sex: Female
Breed: Shih-Tzu cross (Hypoallergenic)
Size: Small
Date Rescued: January 31st 2009
Not Recommended: Children under 14

Jill is a survivor. Jill has suffered and survived the torture of being in a puppy mill at the mercy of a human for the greed of making money to produce that cute puppy you see at the pet store. She was one of many surrendered by the puppy mill who no longer had use for them. However unlike all the others Jill remains the most reserved, she is in short petrified of humans (For very good reasons). However despite how scared she is, she has no mean bone in her. She needs work, a lot of work and someone willing to help bring her out of her shell and undo all the wrongs and injustice she has suffered at the hands of humans. She is a sweet heart, and is just waiting for that special person to spoil her with love and show her that us humans ‘aint all that bad!

Recent Puppy Mill Seizure / Foster homes needed

11-11 took a tour of some of the recent puppy mill dogs at The SPCA today. Lets just say it took us 3 hours to go through them all, there are so many right now. The small breeds are mostly great tempered, however there was one little girl who won out hears over. Jill was hovering in a corner and petrified of people or being touched, so we took her in the rescue! She obviously needed the extra TLC and we could not leave her behind. She is now being foster my one of the team members, Caroline. We also plan to take on a few more.. but we need foster homes! This is were YOU come into play, if you have ever thought about fostering NOW IS THE TIME. These pups need YOUR help. Besides the small dogs, there are also about 40 large golden/husky crosses. Most very well socialized but many absolutely scared of people, however very curious! They just need someone with a little patience willing to pull them out of their shells (We are unable to post pictures of them because they are still in court with the previous owner).

We will also be taking on a 3 legged pregnant husky from them, ready to give birth literally any day now! She will also be fostered within the team by Joanne.

If you have ever thought about fostering NOW is the time. Click Here to see more information about fostering.

New arrival - Bowser

Bowser:

Age: Young (2yrs)
Sex: Male / Neutered
Breed: Main Coon cross
Date Rescued: January 28th 2009

Reason rescued: Bowser is sweet as can be, he is one big baby. Literally - 13lbs of cat. But hey, 13lbs of loove! More to go around right. Bowser wound up in someone’s garage as a kitty and they occasionally gave him food, so he stayed around for 2 years! Finally 2 days before the elderly couple had to move into an old age home they realized the boxes were packed, couched wrapped in plastic, movers booked but wait, the cat in the garage? At least they remembered him. As they were seeking a cheap place to ‘dispose of him’ they did not want to pay veterinary euthanasia fees, and then came across Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue as a cheaper alternative to ‘dispose him’. Point being, he has been rather neglected for the first two years of his life, but now he things have turned around for him and he is looking to find a comfy warm lap to call his. Instead of a cold cement garage floor, for once.

New arrival - Kodie

Kodie:

Age: Young (Around 1 Year)

Sex: Male

Breed: Terrier cross

Size: Small (27lbs)

Date Rescued: January 27th 2009

Kodie was picked up as a stray wondering the streets and picked up by Animal Control. Who knows how long he was on the streets for, or if he ever was an indoor dog. But all we know is he is a great pup! He is cute as a button and looks like a 4 month old puppy, most people can not believe it when they are told he is fully grown. He has the cutest little puppy face and will keep it. He is smart as can be, cute as can be, obedient, loyal, loving... goofy. What more can we say? He is one in a million, and is looking for that perfect family to complete.

Curly - Update

Just got news from his foster mum today! Curly is taking concept to house training, and now does most of his business outside. His diharrea has now cleared up, so we can go ahead and neuter him the next free spot. He will then be looking for you know, that special home for him to fill their hearts.

Sponsor an Animal – Rocco

Rocco had his surgery last week and is already feeling much better! He is having a check-up at the DMV tomorrow to make sure everything is a-ok. Justin (his owner) and him can not thank everyone enough for what they have done to help Rocco, with out everyones support Justin would not have been able to have this surgery done for Rocco. Although even though the surgery has been done we still have a long way in fundraising to go, we are only 1/3 of the way there for paying off the bill. We still have 2000$ to pay back to the DMV who graciously let us go ahead and have the surgery done before we had the money. The DMV foundation covered 1000$ of the cost, we have paid 1000$ but we still have 2000$ more to go.

Foster Home Needed

We just got this email in.. it is pretty urgent!!! Moustache's owner is moving into an old age home and can not bring him, her alternative is to euthanize if he can not find somewhere to go. He is only a year old and very healthy. Most likely castrated, but we will need to confirm.

*Rescued - Now waiting to go into a foster home

Foster Home(s) Needed

Three semi feral kittens need individual foster homes to be socialized. Two males, one female, all about 2 months old. Orange tabbys, very cute! Their mother a blind 2 year old adult black cat needs a foster / adoptive home as well.

New arrival - Curly

Meet Curly; Curly is the cutest, happiest, sweetest go lucky little pup ever with the typical ‘lets-explore-everything’ lab disposition. Judging by personality and disposition alone, you would have never guessed where he came from or that he has had little to no socialization. No he did not come from a breeder and raised in a family situation for him to be this sweet and well tempered. In fact Curly’s adorable curly ears in which we named him after speak monuments about where he came from. Although his ears are adorable, and yes curl! They became this way due to frost bite, followed by scar tissue which made the ears uniquely curl. Curly, his brother, and his sister were locked on a balcony for god knows how long when his previous owners moved and left the unwanted litter behind. They were left there with no food, water, shelter, or warmth. Finally neighbors complained, and he was picked up by animal control. Eventually due to the over population and demand for cage space, Curly and his siblings found themselves on death row. Curly’s two siblings then got adopted, but the night before his ‘due date’ Curly was still waiting for his turn. Low an behold, Curly was finally rescued and now looking forward to starting a new life.

He is currently under treatments for diarrhea caused by several species of worms. He has had a rainbow of de-wormers, and should be fully rid of the extra friends soon. He is also very underweight, and we would like to see him gain some. Finally once he is feeling better and looking a little healthier, he will be neutered and then ready to be adopted.

Foster Home Needed

This little lady was dumped outside and picked up by someone who has spent a month trying to find her a home. She is now at her wits-end and wants to bring her to the Berger Blanc a notoriously high kill pound with questionable morals. Point being this kitty needs a foster home asap! She is sweet as candy, great with kids and other cats, there is no reason for her to be tossed around like yesterdays news. She is a jem, and will be a joy to adopt or foster.

*Adopted!

New arrival - Bunny!

This little lady was rescued the other week after she was brought in by her previous owner to be euthanized. Her previous owner wanted to euthanize her because she became allergic to her. Thankfully she was able to be rescued at the last minute, we saved her from being euthanize as literally the ethanol syringe was being pulled up. She is now safe and sound in her foster home and enjoys plenty of play time outside her large cage. She also enjoys sharing carrots with her new foster family including their Kitty's. She is a great bun, and with such a close call deserves a great new family. One that would not even dream of giving her up or euthanizing her. She is a jem, who ever adopts her will soon realize they are the luckiest bun owners ever.

Pebbles has been adopted!

Pebbels was rescued from a feral cat population (#09LA01) in October. She was one of 15 kittens born, and one of the lucky ones that we were able to catch. She has now been adopted by her foster home. She won over his heart, and his cat's heart and he can not bare to separate them. She is the sister of Bambi, who we still have up for adoption! Bambi is the last kitten from this population to be adopted.

Jiminy Cricket - Update

Hard to imagine just a few weeks ago this little guy was roughing it outside, and completely feral!

TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT - Preview Pictures (More to come!)

Benefit Concert - Take Me Home Tonight

As many of you may know our benefit concert Take Me Home Tonight went down last night at La Salla Rossa! The event was a huge success, and we are not speaking for ourselves when we say it was a blast. Around 200 people (give or take) came out to support the cause, and listen to some great artists. With families sitting at tables around the venue, while others chose to be right in the action.. Everyone was able to enjoy. Yonder hill kick-started the night with a fantastic set, followed by the lovely Amy Millan from Stars. Millan took it away with her out-of-this world vocals, and even guest featured another very impressive up-and-coming artist. The Hoof and the Heel then came on and brought the crowd to their feet with catchy beats you could not help but dance along. Beagart gave a great acoustic set, with the Bud Rice trio wrapping up the night sporting the 11-11 Animal Rescue Logo Tee’s and closing the night on a great note. All the musicians we great, and we cannot thank them enough for their support.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors for helping make this event come to life; Montreal Critters, Lovechristine.com, CKUT Radio 90.3 FM and Have a Heart INC. Also to Meet You At The Show's team for all of their support.

Special thank you to Christine Hale (Lovechristine.com) who is not only an outstanding singer from The Hoof and the Heel but also an amazing artist. She has been with the rescue from the start helping us design our logo, website, and now a new line of T-Shirts! She has been heaven sent, and we are so happy to have her on board. Check out her art at the link above, it is worth a look!

Thank you to the co-organizers, animal enthusiasts and great friends Hannah Rice & Annly Ho of The Red Hot Veterinary Clinic for helping throw this event together.

Last but not least big thanks to the volunteers for doing such a great job; Joanne Mercille, Natalie Ross, Amanda Nicole, Ginette, Joshua Hornstein.

Good News - Rocco had his surgery!

Rocco had his operation on January 19th, and is now recovering, and resting comfortably at the DMV.

During the surgery, the Dr. Planté of the DMV discovered that the damage to Rocco's leg was even worse than we thought - thank you to the DMV for moving his surgery up! Especially, thanks to the DMV for their generous donation of $1000 towards the surgery.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped Rocco so far - to all his donors, including Walkin' Wheels, who donated the specialized wheelchair for Rocco's recovery.

Thanks to everyone out there who fell in love with this brave, beautiful dog, we have raised an incredible amount of money in a short time. But we can't stop now! We are getting much closer to our total goal, but there is still money left to be raised. We owe the DMV money for Rocco's operation, and Rocco will need medication during his recovery.

Once Rocco is better, his owner Justin, will be heading back to school, and able to make a new start in life.

Here are the ways you can help us write this story's happy end:

Go online and make a donation via paypal through Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue.

Visit the DMV's website to learn more about Rocco:

Come out to Eleven Eleven's next benefit concert - Take Me Home Tonight (Face Book Event)- this Friday at the Sala Rossa!

And don't forget to come to our 'Shop for a Cause' (Face Book Event) day organized by Diane Bondurak from House of Shoes - 20% of profits will go towards Rocco!

Sponsor an Animal – Rocco - TODAY IS THE DAY

Rocco went into surgery this morning with Dr. Planté! We have not heard back yet, but fingers crossed everything will go well! More updates when we get news. He will stay in the hospital 2-4 days post depending on the surgery. We are also still waiting on the 'Walkin' Wheels' doggy wheel chair, hopefully we should have it before he comes home!

Interview with meetyouattheshow.com

On Thursday night last week I (Caroline Ross) sat down at a nice little coffee shop with one of the meetyouatthenshow.com guys, Eran Dahan. Although admittedly I was late (sorry!) for the interview, rushing back from my (one of two) job in the boonies. The interview was great, they are one big animal loving team over there at meetyouatthenshow.com and we are ecstatic to have them right on board supporting us!

This little budgie was found in a snowbank on the 23rd of December. He spent a lonely Christmas at a veterinary clinic. However, today the lucky boy arrived at his new forever home. he now has a million birdy toys, a huge new cage, and will soon have a baby brother to chat with!

Another Happy Ending!

Bambi - For Adoption

Bambi has been for adoption with us for over 3 months now!! She's the sweetest, cutest & softest kitty ever... Not to mention stunning! Her fur is as soft as it looks! It is the texture of long hair, but short hair. Its like petting a big soft fluffy cloud.
