The Dewey Meet 'N Greet

Dewey had a blast today at what he refers to as 'Dewey day!' - He made a whole lot of new friends and could not get enough of soaking up all the love and attention. He is now sleeping like a stone, and would like to say a huge THANK YOU for all the support. We had a great turn out and cut a lot of nails to raise money for Dewey's surgery. But well worth it, just being able to see him goof around and be a normal, happy, mischievous puppy.

For those of you who do not know Dewey; he is a 3 month old puppy whose elbow was broke while being punished for having an accident in the house. Because of the extent of damage and location of the break (through the growth plate) he needed specialized orthopaedic surgery. He was surrendered to Eleven Eleven an had the surgery February 19th, which went fantastic!

We are also excited to announce Dewey has been reserved by an amazing adoptive home. He is looking forward to going to the new home very soon. He can not wait to join his new family!

Shop for a Cause - January 31st 2010

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made it out to the Shop for a Cause event organized by The House of Shoes. Especially Diane Bondurak who threw it together to support Rocco and his surgery funds. We were able to raise 350$ to go towards Rocco's surgery fund!

Support like this is what allows us to help animals like Rocco, so we sincerely thank everyone who took the time to make it out to the event and who as involved in the event!

Benefit Concert - Take Me Home Tonight

As many of you may know our benefit concert Take Me Home Tonight went down last night at La Salla Rossa! The event was a huge success, and we are not speaking for ourselves when we say it was a blast. Around 200 people (give or take) came out to support the cause, and listen to some great artists. With families sitting at tables around the venue, while others chose to be right in the action.. Everyone was able to enjoy. Yonder hill kick-started the night with a fantastic set, followed by the lovely Amy Millan from Stars. Millan took it away with her out-of-this world vocals, and even guest featured another very impressive up-and-coming artist. The Hoof and the Heel then came on and brought the crowd to their feet with catchy beats you could not help but dance along. Beagart gave a great acoustic set, with the Bud Rice trio wrapping up the night sporting the 11-11 Animal Rescue Logo Tee’s and closing the night on a great note. All the musicians we great, and we cannot thank them enough for their support.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors for helping make this event come to life; Montreal Critters, Lovechristine.com, CKUT Radio 90.3 FM and Have a Heart INC. Also to Meet You At The Show's team for all of their support.

Special thank you to Christine Hale (Lovechristine.com) who is not only an outstanding singer from The Hoof and the Heel but also an amazing artist. She has been with the rescue from the start helping us design our logo, website, and now a new line of T-Shirts! She has been heaven sent, and we are so happy to have her on board. Check out her art at the link above, it is worth a look!

Thank you to the co-organizers, animal enthusiasts and great friends Hannah Rice & Annly Ho of The Red Hot Veterinary Clinic for helping throw this event together.

Last but not least big thanks to the volunteers for doing such a great job; Joanne Mercille, Natalie Ross, Amanda Nicole, Ginette, Joshua Hornstein.

Lululemon Adoption Day Nov. 8th

As most of you know we broke grounds Nov. 8th and held the first adoption event at Lululemon Athletica on St. Catherines this past Sunday. It was a huge success! People came and learnt about the rescue while enjoying the company of our kittens, puppies and rabbits. Penguin has a few  potential homes, Hook has two potential homes, Zoro the rabbit had a few interested people, and we are VERY happy to say Delilah and Pepper were adopted!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Kaeleigh Doherty for making contact with us in September, taking interest in the rescue and making this happen! Along with all the other Lulu's of the store who were all a great help and we loved their positive vibe. It is a great store, with great clothes and an amazing staff.

Thank you to the volunteers; Natalie Ross, Leigh Symington and Taylor Dickson,  who spent thier day off helping out! Also thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day and came to support us!

If you missed out, don't worry! We hope to throw another adoption day there closer to Christmas!
